1. Americans will eat an estimated 1.38 billion chicken wings on Super Bowl Sunday

According to the National Chicken Council (yes, this is a real thing), Americans will eat an estimated 1.38 billion wings this Sunday - that’s 4 wings for every single person in the United States. 2. The coldest Super Bowl on record was just last year, when the Eagles played the Patriots in Minneapolis

The coldest Super Bowl was in just 2018 - on February 4th, Minneapolis fell to temperatures of -17° Celsius. The U.S Bank Stadium is indoors, but the cold weather did not bode well for tailgate events, or tourists not used to the bitter winters of Minnesota.

Thousands of police enforcements and medical officers were involved in implementing safety plans to battle the elements. This involved having separate indoor locations to prescreen Super Bowl attendees so that nobody had to wait outside in the cold - apparently this was a first for Super Bowl regulations.

The Steelers have won the most Super Bowl games, at 6 times (1975, 1976, 1979, 1980, 2006, and 2009). However, they are not the team that has played in the most Super Bowls. That would be the New England Patriots, with 11 visits to the Super Bowl (including this year) - and only 5 wins.
Two teams tie the record for the most Super Bowl losses. The Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots have both lost the Super Bowl 5 times.

5. This year, Super Bowl commercials will cost $5.25 million for a 30 second slot

During the first Super Bowl in 1967, a 30 second commercial spot cost $37,000. With inflation, this is roughly $280,000 (according to this CPI inflation calculator). This Super Bowl, a 30 second slot will cost $5.25 million. In 2008, the same spot cost just $2.69 million. The price has nearly doubled in the span of a decade!
